Activities include advancement leadership, setting fundraising goals, creation and execution of alumni relations programs, and contributing to work that advances advancement strategies.

Typically includes jobs that are responsible for providing services that support advancement programs and projects through development research and prospect identification, gift administration, donor relations, and stewardship of gifts. Activities include helping uncover the backgrounds, philanthropic histories, and charitable motivations of donors and prospects, receipting and recording gifts, coordinating gift agreements, and acknowledging and recognizing donors.
