Brown University offers two dental insurance options through Delta Dental of Rhode Island. Both plans utilize the PPO Plus Premier network, giving you access to the largest national network of dentists.
Brown University offers a vision plan through VSP (Vision Service Plan). The VSP Choice Plan provides coverage for eye exams, prescription eyewear and contact lenses through a wide network of private practitioners and popular retail chains. If you elect to participate, you pay the full cost of coverage at Brown’s group rates through pre-tax payroll deductions.
OptumRx is Brown University's pharmacy benefit provider. Employees are automatically enrolled in prescription coverage once they enroll in one of Brown's health plans.
A Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows eligible employees who are not currently contributing to an HSA to set aside pre-tax dollars through payroll deductions for qualified out-of-pocket healthcare and dental expenses. These funds may be used to pay for eligible expenses incurred by you, your spouse or eligible dependent(s).
Brown University pays the full cost of basic life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance for eligible employees, who are automatically enrolled through Lincoln Financial Group.
Brown University provides eligible employees with an employer paid long-term disability insurance plan.
Wellness at Brown is the University’s employee well-being program, offering a variety of in-person and virtual programs, tools and incentives designed to support healthy lifestyles. All Brown University faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of these resources to support their overall well-being.
Brown University provides confidential counseling, coaching and work-life support through Spring Health, available to all eligible employees and their families.
Employees and dependents covered under one of Brown's health insurance plans have access to board-certified physicians through phone and/or video consultations.
