Critical Illness and Accident Insurance

Brown University offers voluntary Critical Illness and Accident Insurance to provide financial protection when you need it most. These plans provide cash benefits paid directly to you if you are diagnosed with a serious illness or experience a covered injury. These payments can be used for any purpose, including medical deductibles, recovery costs or everyday living expenses like your mortgage or childcare.

Two Types of Coverage

You may enroll in one or both of the following plans. Each is elected separately.

Provides a lump-sum payment if you or a covered dependent are diagnosed with a covered serious or life-threatening condition (such as cancer, heart attack or stroke).

Provides a cash benefit if you experience a covered accidental injury. Benefits are designed to help offset the costs of emergency care, hospital visits and recovery.
