What's new in 2025?

For 2025, medical plan rates for employees will increase by an average of 6.8% across all plans. This means:

  • Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) increases range from $2.60 to $54.49 per month (depending on tier and salary band)
  • Choice Plus with a Health Savings Account increases range from $1.94 to $24.03 per month (depending on tier and salary band)
  • Bargaining Unit members should refer to your Collective bargaining agreement for contribution percentages.

For those who participate in the Consumer-Directed Health Plan, the limit on an individual health savings account contribution is $4,300, and for family coverage, it is $8,550. The limit includes both employee and employer contributions. The IRS has increased the deductible limit for 2024 to $1,650 per individual and $3,300 per family.

Dental plan rates will not increase, and the plan will now cover Cone Beam Imaging with no cost share for employees.

The elements of the current Wellness Rewards program will stay the same, but your wellness portal will have a new look and feel, with enhanced content to better support you on your wellness journey. Personify Health’s Complete Wellbeing Portal includes new comprehensive guides on nutrition and sleep, as well as expanded content on topics such as substance use, joint health, pregnancy and parenting, menopause, and illness and injuries. As you complete your Wellness Rewards tasks, you’ll have even more tools to support your specific well-being goals.

Employees can conveniently participate in Brown Gives to support the United Way during Open Enrollment. Faculty and staff can donate a fixed monthly amount of $10, $25, $50, $75, or $100 to be payroll deducted over the calendar year.
