Effective May 20, 2025, the University will provide the following legal support services for essential Brown-related travel.
 

Legal Assistance

Brown has partnered with immigration law firm Green and Spiegel to provide legal assistance to employees and students who:

Legal assistance may include:

  • a pre-travel consultation with an attorney for general immigration questions and assessment of overall risk for the traveler, and
  • an Attorney Accessibility Program, allowing Green and Spiegel to act on the traveler's behalf and work towards a resolution if the traveler has issues upon reentry.

Post-legal consultation:

  • As a reminder, all Brown students and employees (including staff, faculty, and postdocs) are required to register international, Brown-related travel in TravelSafe in accordance with Brown’s Travel Policy

These resources will be available through September 1, 2025, and will be reassessed at that time.

All Brown community members preparing for Brown-related travel are welcome to consult privately with the Office of Global Travel Operations, Risk & Resilience for pre-departure planning assistance, whether the travel is international or domestic.
