- When you expect to be out for more than five business days
- Submit requests in Workday at least 30 days in advance when possible

Employees may need to take time away from work to manage a serious health condition or to support a family member through a medical issue. Whether recovering from an illness, undergoing ongoing treatment or providing care to a loved one, UHR is committed to supporting employees throughout the medical leave process.
Brown University is committed to supporting employees as they grow their families. The Paid Parental Leave Benefit provides eligible employees, both birthing and non-birthing parents, with paid time off to bond with a new child, recover from childbirth or complete the adoption process.
