FY26 Staff Salary Increase Process

At its February 2025 meeting, the Corporation approved a total staff salary pool of 3.50% for FY26. This allocation will include a base pool of 1.00%, a performance pool of 1.75% and equity/promotion pool of 0.75%.  The equity/promotion pool for staff will be held centrally in University Human Resources. FY26 staff salary increases will be effective July 1, 2025.

Compensation Services will proactively partner with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and senior leaders on all salary increase requests. Senior leader approved performance, equity, and promotion recommendations must be submitted in Workday by May 9, 2025.

Base Increases

All staff members who were employed on or before March 31, 2025 will receive a 1.00% base increase regardless of performance ratings.  This will be automatically included through the Workday Salary Increase Process.

Note: one additional step for FY26 will be a compensation freeze for members of the President’s Cabinet: these members will not be eligible for compensation increases – base or merit – in FY26. In addition, some highly compensated administrators have voluntarily elected to forgo their compensation increase for FY26.

Performance Increases

In order to provide senior leaders and department heads with flexibility in determining performance increases, we are moving to a model that provides both percent ranges and fixed percentages.  This will provide flexibility to departments on their approach in collaboration with the senior leader.
